It’s been such a busy month that I can’t believe it’s almost half over. I spent the first week of July moving house and the second week getting settled. I didn’t have an internet connection until today, which I thought would be good for writing. I did get some writing done, but setting up house took more time out of my day than I anticipated.
The bright side: audiobooks! I finished Lola and the Boy Next Door by Stephanie Perkins while working. Just press play and go.
The writing I managed to squeeze in between breaking down boxes and organizing kitchen crap was on a project that I put into “resting phase” in March (working title: Out of Love). After spending ~40 days on ~65k words, I put it in a virtual drawer so that I could come back to it with fresh eyes and new ideas. This week I’ve started up again, and it’s been a whole lot of fun. I came up with a totally different way to kill off a major character. Yippee!
A few people have also encouraged me to keep plugging away at something Wake-related, so I’ve put a bit of time toward plotting the prequel. I had about 10k words written when I put the project on hold for personal reasons. If you’re one of those people who wants more, know that I welcome questions and suggestions during the planning phase of things. If there’s anything you’re dying to know, drop me a line.
- New release giveaway. I usually participate in this only on my review blog, but this month I’m expanding it to both this site and my blog.
