Love Among Pigeons
It’s finally in the Barnes & Noble store! I was worried it would take a while, but everything was sorted out relatively quickly. Big thanks to everyone who has supported the book by purchasing it so far. Remember, you can have a chance to win a Kobo Mini by reviewing the novella online.
If you’re in the mood for a laugh, head over to Candace’s Book Blog. I did a guest post earlier this week about my source of inspiration for Jem and Willa’s humor. It’s full of my fiancé’s best one-liners and smart remarks.
“Bastards are like iPods. Everybody has one.”
The recipes featured in Love Among Pigeons are now available online in a pretty printable format. I’m still working on getting the Wake recipes back online. I switched my hosting from iPage to GoDaddy a few months ago, and the recipe PDFs were lost. Unfortunately I don’t seem to have the original copies saved on my computer, either, so I’ll be starting from scratch with those.
Product Creation Blog did a wonderful post recently about wonderfully immersive writing apps. I can vouch for Scrivener — it’s amazing, and sometimes I kick myself because I know I’m not using it to the true extent of its potential. I also enjoy Byword (mentioned at the end), but it’s not my go-to writing app. I use Byword when I have to tune everything else out and want something that’s easy on the eyes. Full page mode in Scrivener and Pages works well too. And if you’re a long-hand writer, nothing beats a Moleskine. I recently spilled water on one of mine when a bottle popped open in my bag. Truly a sad day.
I signed up for a 10-week yoga class. This could either be a lot of fun or a complete disaster. I’ve lost a lot of flexibility and tone since I stopped dancing six years ago (side note: holy shit, six years?), so odds are fifty-fifty that I’ll hurt myself. Or the person next to me. I’ll keep you posted on this potentially embarrassing adventure as I go.
