I know you all clicked on the link because of the cookie dough thing, so let’s start with that. Earlier this week I made eggless cookie dough for a dessert snack. You can bake it, but the point of making it eggless is to eat it raw and pretend to be a kid again. I found the recipe on Pinterest, like most of my new vices.
- Combine: 3/4 cup brown sugar and 1/4 cup softened butter, mix until it forms a creamy paste.
- Add 1/4 tsp. vanilla 1/4 cup milk. Mix until smooth.
- Gradually add 1 cup of flour and a pinch of salt
- Finish with 1/2 cup of chocolate chips
It makes ~2 cups of dough, perfect for sharing… or not.
On to the other half of what I proposed to talk about today –
I’ve been exploring the option of moving Wake’s print edition to a different printer — one that will reliably distribute it with major retailers. Lulu originally did this for $25. Then they scrapped that program, offered a $75 option, and their website crashed whenever I tried to opt in to the $75 plan. The quaility of the books Lulu prints has been decent so far, but their system hasn’t helped me get the book into the hands of people who want it. In fact, they’ve hindered me in that regard.
Switching printers means that I get the opportunity to adjust and tweak the little things about the print edition that I was never entirely happy with. A year ago I had a lot less experience and knowledge, and in some areas it really showed. My goal is to correct these in the new edition. Hopefully it’ll be a done deal before the American Thanksgiving weekend.
Now go enjoy some raw cookie dough awesomeness.
